Introduction to Islam (ITI)
INTRODUCTION
The objective of this course is to introduce participants to the fundamental elements of Islam. After completing the program, the participants are able to clarify and have correct understanding about Islam and be motivated to pursue more knowledge about Islam. The program will begin with general topics extrapolating the worldview of Islam in explaining the fundamental views about God, man, nature, knowledge and any topics deemed necessarily. The second phase is the acquisition of important skill that will assist the participant to read the Qur’an and simple Arabic writing skill which will enable them to learn the advance level in certificate and diploma.

CURRICULUM SYSTEM

9 months, divided into 3 modules (3 months per module).

Course Objectives:

Explore foundational concepts, beliefs, and practices in Islam.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Islamic worldview, principles of faith, and religious practices.

Gain practical skills in the Qur'an recitation and daily prayers.
Modules Overview:

Module 1: Worldview (3 months)
Focus on Islamic concepts of existence, the role of humanity, the relationship between God and creation, and integrating the worldview into daily life. -
Module 2: Principles (3 months)
Covers the Articles of Faith (e.g., belief in Allah, angels, prophets) and the Pillars of Islam (Shahada, Solah, Zakat, Sawm, Hajj). -
Module 3: Practices (3 months)
Hands-on learning for the Qur'an recitation, Solah rituals, ablution, and incorporating spirituality into daily routines.
Assessment:

Participation: active engagement during sessions.

Practical Assessments: evaluation of the Qur'an recitation and Solah practice

There are no written assessments for this course, focusing instead on practical and participatory evaluation.
